About Bambo Nature

Over 30 years ago, before Bambo (bam–BOH) Nature was “Bambo Nature,” the Terp-Nielsen family, founders of Abena, began selling Bambolina disposable diapers in Denmark. “Bambolina,” or “dolly” in Danish, was a nod to the beautiful babies who would use the diapers. The family chose a little bear to represent the brand, whom they affectionately called Bambo. When it was time to grow and choose a name that captured both the spirit of the products, they knew Bambo had to be a part of it. “Nature” was added to the brand’s name to signify the family’s dedication to using sustainable, eco-friendly materials in their production of their products.  “Bambo Nature” was born.

At Bambo Nature, we believe that choosing safe, gentle and eco-friendly products for your baby shouldn’t mean compromising performance. For over 30 years, we have been redefining the natural standard by manufacturing products using high quality, natural ingredients. We never add chemicals, dyes, parabens or perfumes and ensure that Bambo Nature products are free of all known allergens. Our dedication to transparency has paid off because our eco-friendly baby products are certified skin-safe and have received the world’s most stringent and coveted credentials, awards and ecolabels.

Instead of viewing environmental work as an expense, we consider it a prerequisite for the creation of a better company. Abena, the manufacturer of Bambo Nature, has voluntarily elected to undergo strict, rigorous environmental inspections of their products. The criteria is based on an assessment of impacts during the whole lifecycle—all the way from raw material collection to product, consumption and waste. This means all raw material suppliers, business partners, distributors and subsidiaries must embrace these principles and actively take them on board in daily business practice.

Bambo Nature is owned and operated by Abena, a family-owned manufacturer and wholesaler of healthcare solutions and related products, headquartered in Aabenraa, Denmark since 1953. Denmark’s rigorous quality measures and eco-standards are at the core of Abena and Bambo Nature’s mission to provide safe, gentle and effective eco-friendly products.

Bambo Nature uses the finest facilities to manufacture our products. Our diapers and skincare products are produced in Denmark, while our training pants are manufactured in Greece and our wipes are manufactured in Sweden.

Our diapers are created for parents who seek safe, gentle and effective eco-friendly products for their children. To avoid allergic reaction, we ensure our products are void of all known allergens. Our products do not contain any substances or chemicals that are harmful to health or the environment and all of our products have been dermatologist tested by the institute ProDERM (Institute for Applied Dermatological Research) and ATC GmbH (Applied Tax Consult) with the result being “Good.” Our products are never tested on animals.

When we ensure that our products are Dermatologically Tested, this means that we have enlisted a third party to conduct the necessary tests to examine the skin’s tolerance to a specific cosmetic product. What does this entail, exactly? The testing is done according to the guidelines from Cosmetics Europe in a controlled independent test center by a licensed dermatologist. The dermatologist performs what is known as “patch testing”—placing a small amount of product on an area of the skin and putting a band-aid over it, and then removing the band-aid after 48 hours to see if the skin has had a reaction. The patch test is conducted on at least 50 volunteers (and never animals!) with different ages and skin types to be sure we are testing as many skin variables as possible—normal, sensitive, eczema, etc.! The product is then classified as harmless if none of the volunteers have a negative reaction. Of course, it is impossible to capture and test ALL the different skin types the world has to offer, so there is a slight chance one or several ingredients may cause a reaction.

Bambo Nature products have been dermatologically tested to ensure that they do not cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. This, combined with the strict criteria one must adhere to in order to be awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel accreditation, means that you are getting the safest possible product for your child’s skin. Additionally, Bambo Nature has certifications with Ecocert Cosmos, EU Ecolabel, Forest Stewardship Council and Asthma Allergy Nordic.

No! We never have, and we never will.

Bambo Nature Diapers are available in sizes 1–6 and Training Pants in sizes 4–6.

Our side panels are flexible and pull comfortably around your baby’s hips to guarantee a comfortable and customized fit. Bambo Nature diapers and training pants are sized by weight and since two babies with the same weight can have completely different body types, we have created our diapers to overlap slightly on sizing.

Wondering which size you should choose if your baby’s weight falls between two sizes? Try choosing the smaller diaper size if your baby is tall and lean, and the larger diaper size if your baby is short and stout.

Our technologically innovative diapers are thin, yet ultra-absorbent, and feature a fully breathable backsheet. This allows moisture to be wicked away faster, keeping baby’s skin dry and reducing the likelihood of diaper rash. A dry environment, along with the absence of harmful chemicals and allergens not only prevents, but also aids in the healing of diaper rash.

Bambo Nature’s disposable diapers and training pants work well both day and night because they feature a unique triple-layer design with super absorbent core for maximum leak protection, as well as a fully breathable backsheet and top dry design, which whisks moisture away from the skin. In short, they can handle multiple wettings while still keeping your baby’s skin dry.
